# Health Factor, Top-Ups & Alerts

*Keep your cluster healthy: how Health Factor behaves, how to top up before a margin call, and how to wire up automated Telegram alerts so you never miss one.*

### Health Factor recap

Your **Health Factor (HF)** is calculated at the **Account Cluster** level (not per-account) — cross-margin offsets are already baked in. See Managing Your Positions.

The margin-call threshold is **pre-agreed with Arkis** and can be updated on request (via the support bot). The liquidation threshold is typically **1.0**.

### Topping up

You can top up a Margin Account **at any time** by sending additional funds to its address in **any whitelisted token**

Because HF is a cluster metric, you have more levers than just adding funds:

* **Add a CEX sub-account** to the cluster so its equity supports the position.
* **Transfer a Margin Account** to a healthier cluster.
* **Merge clusters** to pool collateral.

> **Tip** Top up as soon as you receive a **Margin Call Alert** — don't wait for HF to approach 1.0. The fastest top-up is a direct on-chain deposit to the Margin Account address.

### Automated alerts (Arkis Notifier Bot)

Arkis continuously monitors cluster Health Factor and pushes alerts to a dedicated Telegram channel via the **Arkis Notifier Bot**:

| --------------------- | ------------------------------------ | ---------------------- |
| **Margin Call Alert** | HF declining — informational warning | pre-agreed (e.g. 1.05) |
| **Liquidation Alert** | Liquidation process initiated        | typically 1.0          |

Auto-alerts are typically delivered within \~1 minute of a threshold breach — but that's **message-delivery latency only**; it does not include the time your team needs to read and act. Targets are in Operational Timelines.

#### Set up Telegram alerts

1. Create a Telegram group (or use an existing one) for Arkis alerts.
2. Add **`@ArkisNotifierBot`** and **`@raw_data_bot`** to the group.
3. `@raw_data_bot` returns your **chat ID** — share it with Arkis.
4. Send your **Margin Account addresses** to Arkis to activate alerts.

> **Note** The Notifier Bot is **push-only** — it sends alerts, it doesn't take requests. To *act* on an alert (top up, change a threshold), use the support bot. To update your margin-call threshold, just ask the support bot. See The Telegram Support Bot.
